Vegetables with a yogurt dip
As an alternative to savoury snacks, offer your guests a colourful and healthy platter. Enrich the fresh vegetables with a refreshing yogurt dip. By replacing mayonnaise with yogurt in the sauce, you can increase the nutritional value of the meal and cut the amount of fats and calories.
- 2 Zelene Doline LCA probiotic yogurts
- fresh herbs (basil, parsley, chives, thyme)
- small clove of garlic
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp olive oil
- salt and pepper
- fresh peppers of various colours
- fresh cucumber
- fresh carrots
- celery stalks
Clean the vegetables and cut them into sticks of roughly the same size. Arrange the sticks in small bowls or on a large platter.
Chop the fresh herbs and crush the garlic. Don’t overdo the garlic or it will overpower the gentle flavours of the herbs and yogurt. Mix the herbs, garlic, lemon juice and olive oil with the yogurt, pour the mixture into a small bowl and place it in the centre amidst the vegetables.
If you prefer a slightly richer dip, you can add a few spoonfuls of Zelene Doline crème fraîche.
The yogurt dip can also be enhanced with other herbs. To make it spicier, you can add some chopped hot peppers or chilies.
In addition to fresh vegetables, you can serve steamed vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower). Just make sure they are not overcooked so they keep their natural colour and an attractive crunch.
