Fast "pizza” baguette

You can use a baguette to make this tasty snack, which is just as flavoursome as a classic pizza, in less than half an hour. Cover the bread with your favourite toppings, bake it and savour the aroma of fresh baked pizza. This time, we went for a tuna topping.

Fast "pizza” baguette

Ingredients for 4 persons

  • 1 baguette
  • 4 tbsp tomato puree
  • 1 red pepper
  • the green part of two spring onions
  • 190 g tinned maize
  • 225 g tinned tuna
  • 120 g grated cheese (Zelene Doline Edam or Zelene Doline Gouda)
  • seasoning of preference (oregano, thyme, basil)

Line a baking tray with baking parchment and set the oven to 190 °C. Cut the baguette lengthwise in half and place both halves on the tray with the cut sides up.
Tip the tinned maize into a strainer, rinse under running water and drain thoroughly. In the meantime, clean and wash the pepper and the green part of the spring onions. Chop the pepper into small pieces and the spring onion into rings. Drain the tuna and break it into smaller pieces. Add the tuna to the maize, onions and pepper and mix in 2/3 of the grated cheese. Spread the tomato puree on the baguette halves and then top them with the cheese, tuna and vegetable mixture. Sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top. Bake for 12 minutes in the heated oven until the cheese is nicely melted.

Cut the prepared “pizzas” into smaller pieces and serve.
